All of our manufacturing takes place within a 1,500 mile radius in China, which is where our bamboo is grown. In order to guarantee that our manufacturing practices are in-line with our environmental and social values, we spent the first two years of Five Bamboo researching the environmental impact of the bamboo lyocell process and finding companies that meet our high labor standards. Today, we oversee every step of our manufacturing process, ensuring the factories we use offer a safe working environment and fair wages, and comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. We have employees on the ground in China visiting our manufacturing partners’ factories every week. We could just blindly outsource our work like many other companies, but we choose to operate differently.
